Strategy and Future Sciences Center

The University of Technology was established in 2018 as a public university by the National Higher Education Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

To foster and develop knowledge production from a strategic perspective, and to train and qualify leaders and personnel in this field.

To be a distinguished center in strategic studies, international relations, and capacity building.

The center aims to prepare students capable of understanding the fields of strategic planning, international relations, diplomatic studies, and security and strategic studies. It further seeks to develop their abilities to understand and analyze the nature of international politics (and public policy). The general objectives can be elaborated into the following specific objectives:

  1. Introduce the center’s areas of specialization and link them with knowledge and sciences in other fields.

  2. Prepare academically qualified graduates equipped with the skills and scientific methodology that enable them to work in the center’s areas of specialization.

  3. Provide public and private sector institutions in Sudan, African and Arab countries, and the rest of the world with qualified graduates in fields related to the center’s specializations.

  4. Enable faculty members and researchers to conduct research and studies in strategic planning, international relations, diplomacy, and security and strategic studies, and to provide consultations to those who need them.

Council Responsibilities and Competencies

  • Plan research and study policies that serve the fields of strategic and security studies, international relations, diplomacy, and strategic planning, and set priorities.

  • Submit scientific proposals for establishing graduate programs and studies to the University Professors’ Council.

  • Recommend the establishment of centers of excellence for scientific research in the center’s areas of specialization.

  • Approve policies for joint work between the center and counterpart institutions and centers inside and outside Sudan, and set regulations, foundations, and controls for managing such collaborations.

  • Recommend the publication of research and scholarly works.

  • Form specialized scientific committees that assist in achieving the council’s objectives.

  • Recommend organizing conferences or scientific seminars inside or outside Sudan.

  • Recommend the translation of scientific works.
