The University of Technology was established in 2018 as a public university by a decision of the National Council for Higher Education under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It evolved from the Khartoum College of Science and Technology, founded in 1991 and initially known as the Khartoum College of Science and Technology, a non-profit private college focused on applied technical studies in engineering and business. The college later expanded to include Computer Science, Information Technology, and Information Systems, and added the Faculties of Law, Nursing Sciences, and Postgraduate Studies.
The university’s main campus is located in Khartoum State, in the city of Khartoum, at Al-Daraja Al-Thalitha Extension, Mohamed Naguib Street, south of the Expatriates Affairs Authority.
The university was established in a distinguished environment, benefiting from the infrastructure of Khartoum Technical College — including its buildings and lecture halls — as well as extensive academic, practical, and administrative expertise.
